Our beloved Mom (Oma) passed away peacefully at Holy Family Home on May 25, 2026. She is survived by her son Gord (Anne-Marie), and their children, Jordan (Sammi), Meagan (Matthew); and son Ron (Celina), and their children, Rosanna (Alex), Andrew (Dez), and Nicholas and her brother in Germany, Arno (Hannelore) and sister Edith (Manfred), and many nieces and nephews.
Oma was born in Essen, Germany, moved to Kelowna in 1958, and later to Winnipeg to work, where she met and married her true love, Harry (Opa), in September 1962. Oma was an amazing homemaker who found joy in sewing, cooking, baking and making flower arrangements. Everyone loved gathering at Oma and Opa’s house to share a meal she prepared. Her faith in God and caring manner blessed her family and all who knew her.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff on St. Paul Unit for their loving care. A graveside service will be held at Glen Eden Cemetery

Ron and Celina and children, who are no longer children! Since attending Rowandale we kept thinking to go visit your mother and determine if she was related to you, as we remember you through Faith Academy. So seeing the obituary, indeed, your Mom was of the Glesmann family we knew. It's so lovely to read and hear what sort of lovely lady of faith that she was, as seen in her bountiful good works. Dear Gord, Anne Marie, Ron and Celina and grandchildren, Thinking of you and sending my condolences on the passing of your dear Mother and Grandmother. Sieglinde was a fantastic home maker, mother and friend. She has now finished her earthly journey and has been released from this life into eternal glory. May the Lord continue to walk with you all and pour His love and peace on you.
